Hi, I’m Anushya.
A portrait and event photographer working in
Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Growing up, I shuttled between Bengaluru and Mumbai, and both cities inexplicably feel like home. But wandering aimlessly through Mumbai gullies as a teenager is what really got me interested in images. Pointing a crusty Sony Ericsson k750i phone camera around, I loved being a fly on the wall, making snapshots of life passing by.
My foray into professional photography began in 2010, after graduating from Light and Life Academy in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. I freelanced as a wedding, fashion and concert photographer, until I moved to New York City to study photography at the School of Visual Arts.
Now I work in Bengaluru and Mumbai, and wherever work takes me, specialising in portraits and event photography.
When I’m not photographing, I’m usually reading historical fiction, listening to podcasts or making cyanotype prints.
